Comments from people who've bought the book:
This might very well be my first post to badminton central forums. I've been playing approx 1.5 years now and I'm 28 years old. Before playing I had held a racquet maybe twice in my life so I was completely new to the sport. I play roughly 7 to 10 hours a week and devote an average of 2 to 3 hours of reading on the sport and have progressed to a level where I can at least competently compete with the "regulars" at one local club and have some respectable shots. I bought Butch & Vip's book last week (through a friend as I have no paypal account) and I would say that this book is fantastic, it was well worth the 30 dollars even for just an ebook and I would recommend any beginner or intermediate to advanced player pick it up. After reading through 4 times already I'm still picking up new bits of information and applying them to my game. I've noticed real improvement to my serve/backhand/tactics and am very thankful. Phenomenal job on this book!!!!

Finally got hold of your book, I appreciated it very much, it's worth my money. Thank you very much writting such a very informative book. I hope someday you could create a video tutorial. :D
I think the book is very good...I particularly like the details on the
various grips and how to do the shots...it is a clear as you can make
it.
Arthur
I love the book! It's very comprehensive and informative. Definitely the best I've seen about badminton so far.

Rina
I just looked through the footwork section - it was very helpful. Now I just have to read through the rest of the book.
Frank
Surprisingly I have just been flipping to different topics and have not read the book entirely yet. At first glance, I find the book quite informative with good drawings and pictures. As an intermediate player, I think it will be quite helpful. I find all the descriptions of the different techniques very clear.
Russell
It's very good! Congratulations to you both!
Steve
I got the book and it is AWESOME! It's a lot better than the Steven Baddeley book I've been heaping praises on in another thread. First rate content and high quality materials make this book really worth getting and keeping.

PlainZen - A Zen Tutorial in Plain Language
A simple, easy to understand, tutorial of Zen and how to use it in your life. Written in plain language, this hopefully dispels the reputation of Zen as being 'mysterious', 'mystical', 'deep', 'hard to get' because of the difficulty in explaining its practice. Zen is actually very practical and simple if what is explained is what it's for and how to practice it. Other teaching books tend to get bogged down in Zen history, Zen terms and rituals. This tutorial tries to put those things aside first and concentrate on the essence of Zen: how it works, why it works, and how it makes our life better. Not a religion nor a cult nor a philosophy, Zen is a healthy mental attitude that can help anyone of any religious background or philosophy. Zen is basically 'yoga for the mind.' So keep your 'head' limber, stretched and relaxed, and make your life and others better in the process. The time to learn Zen is now.
Tap 'Read' to read the tutorial. When you quit and go back to 'Read', it remembers your place. Tap 'Contents' to jump to the different topics:

Together, you will help solve countless cases, some easier than others, some challenging, which will keep your wits sharp, your mind logical, and the world a better place. Full Version
Tapping on a case brings you to the main grid. Here, you'll see scrollable text that talks about the case and gives clues you'll need. Based on these clues, you can circle and cross out possible suspects.
Based on the clues and your grid notes, you enter your hypotheses in the Answer page where clicking on 'Check' lets you see if your answers are correct so far--letting you correct what you've missed.
Your changes are always saved! Should you decide to leave the current case unfinished because you want to work on another case, your answers as well as your grid notes are all saved so you can go back to work on them again at a later time.
So what are you waiting for, my dear detective? Get out your magnifying glass, your fingerprint kit and download this app from the iTunes Appstore! |
